Meet the Dynamic Duo

We’re Ian and Hailey — partners in life, barbecue, and big dreams. Married since 2018, we’re raising our blended crew of five incredible kiddos… some his, some hers, and all ours.

For years, we chased the version of success we thought we were supposed to want: the house, the cars, the careers, the grind. But somewhere along the way, we burned out. Life got heavy. Our marriage went through a season we weren’t sure we’d survive.

By God’s goodness, we rebuilt — our relationship, our health, our joy. And even as things got better, one thing stayed stubbornly hard: finances. The elusive “someday” always felt just out of reach.

So we made a bold move.

We bought a bus.

A big, beautiful, slightly chaotic symbol of freedom. A chance to build something new.

But life had other plans.

We didn’t have the time to build it out. We moved back home to New Mexico, and before we knew it… we were right back in the same cycle. The same grind. The same “someday.”

And that’s when we realized something important:

Someday doesn’t come unless you make it.

So we kicked it up a notch.

We opened a business.

A real, brick‑and‑mortar, heart‑and‑soul, community‑rooted dream: Movin Maxwell’s BBQ.

This is the chapter we’re in now — building something with our own hands, serving the community that raised us, creating a life that feels like purpose instead of pressure.

The bus is still waiting. The dream is still alive. But for now, we’re here — cooking good food, raising good kids, and building something real.

If you’re reading this, welcome to the journey.

Buckle up… the adventure is still just getting started.

  • Ian Maxwell

Ian retired from the car industry after a good amount of years and many more hours. Ian’s plan is to make BBQ for the rest of his life and not know people’s credit.

He is the funniest person in our family, the cook, the handyman, the chaos coordinator, and most importantly the spiritual leader of our home.

  • Hailey Maxwell

Hailey has been a licensed hair dresser since 2016. She obtained her educators license in 2020 and found a love for teaching.

She is the momma, the kitchen dancer, the CEO, the HBIC (respectfully). She comes from the south side of heaven. Pray with her, don’t play with her.

Follow us, we can all be lost together.
